OverviewElectrical Engineer required to join the Linford Block Plant near Stanford-le-Hope in Essex. The role involves maintenance leadership and collaboration with production and maintenance teams to sustain high operational efficiency and support World Class Maintenance initiatives.ResponsibilitiesLead and own the 1 year rolling, and 3 - 5 year improvement plan for the assetsImplement Written Schemes of Examination, assess equipment condition and suitability for further service and report outcomes to the business area to comply with legal requirements and business goalsRecommend repairs and advise the Engineering and Projects Manager on restoration of “fit for purpose” condition, accept repairs and assign inspection intervals to achieve legal compliance and business goalsOwn and lead the implementation of a Risk Based Assessment programme for electrical systems equipment, ensuring complianceProvide electrical systems technical input in support of projects and plant modifications to deliver legal compliance and business integrity requirementsEnsure management of change practices are followed for all modifications, upgrades or project work to electrical related systems on sitePower system fault detection and diagnoses methods using online/offline methods, historical data and simulation modellingConduct routine maintenance and updates to systems and collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve system performanceContribute to achieving budget targets through efficient use of materials and replacement partsDevelop and improve the knowledge and skills of engineers, fitters and apprentices by providing training and support on electrical systemsMaintain Health and Safety rules and regulations and ensure Safe Systems of Work are signed off and complied with toward zero harmReview plant availability and performance, identify gaps and improvement activity, proposing economical ways to extend life or increase mean time between failuresEvaluate and improve preventive maintenance job plans and update inspection job plans in coordination with the Engineering PlannerContribute to failure analysis and corrective actions, leading RCA for plant failures when requiredThe Ideal CandidateThe successful applicant will have experience with electrical systems, Siemens S5 & S7, Allen Bradley, Profinet and associated plant, ideally with manufacturing (QA and production), maintenance and operation, repair and site inspection experience.Qualifications / RequirementsBEng or MEng in a related discipline, or QBE (Qualified by Experience)ESSENTIAL - 18th EditionStrong technical knowledge of electrical equipment combined with heavy industrial plant experienceTechnical experience of preventive, predictive and systematic maintenance – Databases, CMMS and Project SoftwareBenefitsBonus schemeEnhanced holiday entitlementContributory pension schemeAccess to the Tarmac Reward website with discounts on retailers, holidays, etc.Employee Assistance helpline for free and confidential adviceAccess to employee communities (nine communities, including REACH)Training and development opportunitiesTarmac, a CRH company, is an equal opportunity employer.
