Job Title Senior Lecturer in Occupational Therapy (Grade H) Faculty / Directorate College of Health and Society Location High Wycombe, with travel to other campuses as required. Reporting Responsible to: Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy Job Purpose Deliver a first‑class student experience and undertake impactful research and knowledge exchange. Lead and undertake curriculum development, professional practice placement activities, enterprise activity, research and other scholarly activities. Practice an inclusive approach and support an inclusive university community. Main Duties & Responsibilities Design and deliver high quality, innovative and challenging learning experiences. Lead module delivery, curriculum development, personal tutoring, assessment, review and evaluation. Provide support for student placements, internships and work‑related activities. Coordinate and manage student clinical placements. Conduct research and scholarship relevant to the lecturing role or professional practice. Engage with business and professional networks to promote teaching, learning and research. Deliver pastoral care and project supervision of students. Plan and deliver curriculum using appropriate media and IT. Provide effective feedback, support and guidance to students to promote improvement of performance. Research And Knowledge Exchange Conduct effective research and scholarship, generate income and align own research with teaching and learning. Collaborate with external partners, communities, professional bodies and employers. Engage in effective doctoral supervision and develop early career research. Produce peer‑reviewed conference and journal outputs. Embed research within teaching and curriculum and contribute to research impact. Contribute to the REF and KEF and internal/external research strategies. Learning, Teaching & Scholarship Deliver education through research‑informed teaching and curriculum management. Generate peer‑reviewed pedagogical outputs. Lead inclusive teaching and learning culture. Use innovative digital technology to enhance learning. Provide pastoral support, tutoring and placement liaison. Engage with professional bodies and employers to enhance practice. Secure external funding for educational projects. Leadership And Academic Citizenship Increase student recruitment and contribute to business planning. Mentor and support professional development and CPD. Engage with professional bodies, policymakers and community. Foster inclusion and reduce awarding gaps. Lead income generation initiatives. Other Activities Professional development (CPD, conferences). Contribute to Open Days, Graduation events, marketing and promotional work. Act as commentator or contributor to media. Comply with legislative and regulatory requirements (Data Protection, Health & Safety, UKVI, Equality & Diversity). Additional duties as required. Person Specification Education, Qualifications & Training First degree in a relevant field (Application). Doctoral level qualification or equivalent experience (Application). Recognised HE teaching qualification or fellowship by Advance HE (Application). Knowledge & Experience Expert knowledge and research in discipline/field. Track record of quality learning and teaching outcomes. Active researcher with high‑quality research outputs. Experience coordinating student placements. Contribution to research communities. Excellent student/customer experience track record. Active contribution to subject association or professional body. Experience of securing external project funding. Experience of doctoral supervision, tutoring, mentoring. Skills Excellent presentation and teaching delivery skills. Strong oral and written communication. Excellent organisational and time‑management skills. Flexibility and responsiveness to changing priorities. Digital proficiency (Microsoft tools). Effective customer service skills. People skills to build relationships with staff and external partners. Special Requirements Willingness and ability to work off‑site locations and across campus (Application).
