Vision: Changing Lives through Education Role Overview The Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer will maintain, install, and refurbish fabric and equipment across the GBS UK estates portfolio. The role includes monitoring building conditions, undertaking repairs and renovations, assisting Estates and Facilities with refurbishment projects, and providing flexibility for travel to other campuses. The position is a full-time 40‑hour week, operating Monday to Sunday 7:00 am–9:30 pm with occasional out‑of‑hours work as needed. What The Role Involves Preventative and Reactive Maintenance Building and Equipment Maintenance Health, Safety and Compliance Documentation and Inventory Management Refurbishment and Fit‑Out Projects Travel and Flexibility Experience and Skills Required 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification City & Guilds Level 2 and/or Level 3 in Electrical Installations, or equivalent NVQ, or demonstrable experience to the same standard Previous experience in building maintenance including M&E systems Manual skills, knowledge of refurbishment techniques Flexible and proactive approach with a "can‑do" attitude Familiarity with COSHH requirements for equipment and chemicals used Interpersonal skill and ability to work independently and as part of the wider facilities team Full, clean driving licence What We Offer 25 days annual leave, plus 8 public holidays 1‑day extra leave per year of service, up to 5 days maximum Workplace pension scheme Tuition reimbursement for career development courses Flexible Benefits: Cycle to Work, Workplace Nursery, Techscheme, and more Perks@Work discount platform, wellbeing centre, and more Reward and recognition programme £500 award employee referral scheme Discretionary annual performance bonus Testimonials "GBS has been a good place for professional growth.
