Health & Safety and Facilities Officer TCHC Group Travel is essential for this role, so the candidate must be able to drive and have access to a car. Qualifications NEBOSH qualification (ESSENTIAL) or willing to train towardsIOSH qualification (DESIRABLE)Experience of working within a Health and Safety role (preferably an education setting)Experience in implementing policyExperienced and efficient at conducting and producing risk assessments Skills & Abilities Problem‑solving: to be well versed in developing safe operational strategies and solutions to minimise workplace incidentsOrganisational skills: to coordinate general workplace operations to ensure compliance with safety standardsCommunication: to provide company staff with useful safety information by means of clear language Main Tasks & Responsibilities Monitor work processes and procedures to identify unsafe practices or breaches of safety regulations Conduct equipment inspections to ensure they are correctly installed and operational Facilitate and schedule repairs of unsafe or damaged equipment/property Organise safety training to educate organisation staff on necessary safety principles Develop and implement safety procedures and policies Carry out investigations to identify the root cause of an incident or other unsafe conditions Oversee the placement and setup of safety signs to warn of potential hazards Prepare and present periodic safety operation reports to company management Conduct risk assessments to identify work areas with a high risk of operational hazard Conduct the risk assessment for learners’ work placements Oversee company waste disposal methods to ensure they comply with safe disposal procedures Review company operational processes to ensure they are in line with health & safety legislation Attend occupational safety and health seminars to update job knowledge and enhance their skills Support and work with Centre Managers and Project leads to maintain daily health and safety procedures Yearly inspections and checks across all Centres Support in setting up new centres Ensure ISO 14001 environmental sustainability objectives annually Organise the external audit annually and ensure the company receives a pass result annually Be the environmental officer for the company and set environmental objectives annually Prepare and maintain vital documents such as the manual, internal/external audits, risk assessments, management meetings, policies, training and continual improvement Equal Opportunities TCHC is dedicated to promoting equal opportunities and preventing discrimination for everyone.
