Employment Associate – Top 100 Law Firm

Birmingham

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Employment Associate to join a highly regarded Employment team at a Top 100 law firm in Birmingham. This is a full-time, flexible working role, ideal for a solicitor with 1-3 years' PQE looking to develop their career in a supportive and dynamic environment.

The Role

As a key member of the team, you will handle a high-quality and varied caseload, working closely with partners and colleagues on a range of employment matters, including:

  1. Employment tribunal claims – predominantly acting for Respondents.
  2. Advising employers on workplace issues, including disciplinaries, grievances, restructures, and redundancies.
  3. Drafting employment documentation, including contracts, settlement agreements, consultancy agreements, and staff handbooks.
  4. Enforcing post-termination restrictive covenants.
  5. Supporting clients with outsourcing contracts, contract drafting, and training.

You will be:

  1. A qualified solicitor with 1-4 years' PQE in employment law.
  2. Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
  3. Commercial awareness and an enthusiasm for business development.
  4. A proactive and ambitious team player who enjoys working in a collaborative environment.
  5. A client-focused approach, ensuring the highest standards of service.
