Band 6 Mental Health Nurse

About the role The AMHT is excited to recruit a Band 6 Mental Health Nurse to join our busy but rewarding community team on a full‑time basis. We are an experienced Adult Mental Health Team based in Abingdon, and we work collaboratively to provide both short‑term and long‑term interventions, ensuring that every patient receives compassionate and person‑centred support. The successful candidate will join a dedicated staff group providing assessment and evidence‑based treatment interventions to a wide range of people in Abingdon and surrounding areas. This role is open to registered mental health nurses with extensive experience of working in adult mental health services and an understanding of the challenges that this care group can bring. Responsibilities Deliver and maintain high quality and meaningful care for our patients. Work autonomously with a caseload of patients, engaging them and offering recommended treatment and support. Assess and manage risk, including the use of safeguarding processes. Participate in daily multidisciplinary (MDT) meetings and contribute to clinical matters. Support the development and training of new staff through supervision and professional development opportunities. Use the Flexible Assertive Community Treatment (FACT) model of healthcare to focus on the recovery of patients. Engage with patients’ families and carers where possible and provide person‑centred evidence‑based care.
