We are delighted to be recruiting for a Senior Sous Chef to join our team. This position is within our hotel kitchen and you will report directly to our Head Chef.

Welcome to THE PIG in the Cotswolds

In January 2024, we acquired the 17th century Barnsley House hotel that is tucked away in the quintessential Cotswold's village of Barnsley, just four miles from Cirencester. THE PIG in the Cotswolds offers guests a classic example of an English country garden that evolves with the seasons including a kitchen garden that will supply the produce found on our 25-mile menu.

The Role:

As Senior Sous Chef, you will need to be a real leader with strong people skills to support our Head Chef in managing our kitchen team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Confidence with the overall running of the kitchen.
  • Supporting our Head Chef with the management of food costs and budgeting.
  • Working closely with our Kitchen Gardeners to utilize our kitchen garden produce.
  • Competent knowledge of health and safety regulations, food handling, and dietary requirements.
  • Encouraging development and supporting the kitchen team with their skills.
  • Taking an active role in leading, teaching, and inspiring our kitchen apprentices.

Experience as a Senior Sous Chef within a similar establishment is required.
