GP Locum

Job Summary We are looking to recruit a fixed term salaried GP for maternity leave to cover 6 sessions per week (Ideally Monday, Wednesday and Friday). Main duties of the job Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver safe and high-quality care. Delivery of care in line with NICE guidelines and evidence-based care. Triage and treat patients, performing specialist assessment of their needs and make referrals as necessary to other members of the primary and secondary health care teams as appropriate. We are a SystmOne practice with an excellent Admin and Nursing Team, Advanced Paramedic Practitioner, First Contact Physiotherapist, Clinical Pharmacist, Social prescriber and Health Coaches. We are a research active practice and as a training practice we offer a range of training for both Medical Students and GP Registrars. Request diagnostic investigations and interpret within agreed protocols e.g. x-ray, blood tests, scans, etc. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions, including drug and non-drug based treatment methods into a management plan. Prescribing and reviewing medication that is appropriate to patient needs and in accordance with latest evidence-based practice, national and practice protocols and within the scope of qualified practice. Co‑ordinate the planning and delivery of care ensuring patients and carers/relatives are involved. Take responsibility for continuity of care for registered patients as appropriate. Manage and record consultations via practice software systems eg. SystmOne and AskmyGP. Person Specification Qualifications Fully qualified GP on performers list.
