Stanley House, Anthonys Way, Medway City Estate, Rochester, ME2 4NFJob Status:Full-Time, PermanentJob Career Level:Experienced (Non-Managerial)Job Salary:Job Reference Code:Reporting too:Depot ManagerWorking hours:Monday – Friday, 50 hour contract, 6am-4pmPrinciple Duties and Accountabilities:Being flexible in your approach to work and undertake ad-hoc duties when your vehicle is off the road or if you are required to assist other field teams.Roles and Responsibilities:Drive and operate specialist jetting tankers; Super Suction Jetting Tankers, Combination Jetting Tankers once training has been provided (Class 2, CPC required)Attend emergency call out situations dealing with sewer blockages, flooding and pollutionWorking on Private and public land in strict accordance with statutory health, safety and environmental proceduresUndertake vehicle checks at the start and finish of each shiftEnsure that all jobs are documented correctlyReport all defects, accidents and near misses immediately to Line ManagerMaintain the driver’s log book in compliance with MOT rules and proceduresEnsure that the conditions of all PPE (personal protective clothing and equipment) remain fit for purposeKeep the vehicle and equipment washed down on a weekly basis, free from rubbish in hose and tool boxes and the cabAttend training as and when requiredOther Information:Health & Safety:Section 7 of the Health & Safety at Work Act (1974) states the general duties of employees at workIt shall be the duty of every employee while at work to:(a) To take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work; and(b) as regards any duty or requirement imposed on their employer or any other person by or under any of the relevant statutory provisions, to co-operate with them so far as is necessary to enable that duty or requirement to be performed or complied withDrainage Engineer (Combi) Health and Safety Responsibilities are:To understand and comply with the company health and safety policyTo influence and promote a positive health, safety culture within the organisation and lead by exampleTo ensure all works activities are carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with legislative, company requirements and the RAMSTo carry out comprehensively and complete all company required site documentationEnsure VPR’s are carried out and completedDRA’s are to be carried out for every job and updated where requiredTo report all health, safety and environmental incidents to the Line Manager within 2 hours of it happeningQualifications / Competency:7.5t Driving licenseMust have the ability to take on responsibility of working within very controlled guidelines and environmental regulationsAble to deal with the public in a polite and friendly mannerAble to work with a minimum of supervision and to receive instructions remotelyPrevious work involving liquid waste products in the water utility / environmental services sector is desirable. Knowledge of safe working in street works preferredNRSWA Unit 2High Pressure Water JettingEU Skills Card (Green)Emergency First AidFirst Aid at WorkStandpipe Usage Competence20 days holiday plus bank holiday.
