Handyman

Branta are seeking a practical, personable and helpful Handyman with handyman experience to join a facilities team in Northumberland. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, problem‑solving, and keeping buildings and grounds safe, clean, and welcoming. Working as part of a supportive, multi‑skilled team, you'll take responsibility for day‑to‑day site upkeep, carrying out basic repairs, maintenance, and caretaking duties across a range of properties. Opening, securing, and checking sites each day. Carrying out basic maintenance and repair work. Completing planned and reactive maintenance tasks. Setting up rooms and moving furniture as required. Managing waste and keeping communal areas and grounds clean and tidy. Supporting the supervision of contractors and site visitors. Being approachable and willing to help staff, students, and visitors as needed. About You You’ll be helpful, personable, and a true team player, taking pride in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment. You’ll have a good range of general maintenance skills, the ability to work independently, and the willingness to support colleagues and site users. Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience in a caretaker, facilities, or handyman role. Good basic DIY and repair skills. A full UK driving licence and ability to travel between sites. Flexibility to work a shift pattern between 06:00 and 21:00 if required. Desirable Experience working within an estates or facilities management environment.
