SEND Teaching Assistant – Supply role, Thetford and surrounding areas (ASAP) These flexible opportunities are ideal for SEND Teaching Assistants who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings in Thetford and the surrounding areas. You will work with pupils who have special educational needs, supporting their learning and well‑being in a range of classroom environments. Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant Provide one‑to‑one and small group support for pupils with SEND Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities Help manage behaviour and promote a positive learning environment Support pupils with personal care needs where required Encourage independence and social interaction among pupils Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with staff Qualifications & Experience Previous experience working with children with SEND in school or care settings Knowledge of strategies for supporting pupils with autism, ADHD or other needs Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations Strong communication and teamwork skills A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one Step On training & Professional Development Step On is an evidence‑based training programme developed by Norfolk County Council, supporting schools for over 15 years.
