About the Role As a Decontamination Services Supervisor, you will: Supervise Assistant Technical Officers on a day-to-day basis, ensuring timely and high-quality provision of specialised decontamination services. Oversee the reprocessing of reusable medical devices and mattresses, including cleaning, disinfection, assembly, sterilisation, and tracking. Liaise with user departments and staff to meet patient and service requirements. Maintain compliance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures and the Quality Management System. Plan and organise daily workloads, staff rotas, and on-call schedules. Monitor equipment performance, arrange repairs, and ensure accurate record-keeping. Support staff training, development, and performance reviews in collaboration with the Team Leader and Manager. Ready to take the next step in your career? Person Specification Knowledge Requirement Essential Knowledge of quality and safety standards in a Decontamination Services environment Understands the fundamentals of data quality, data protection and the confidential use of patient information Understands concept and management of urgent /priority medical devices & equipment and non-conformance Desirable Knowledge of Trust CARE Values Qualifications Essential GCSE qualification of grades of A - C English Language & Maths or equivalent Use of Microsoft Office and PC systems including operation of Window based software, Desirable NVQ level 3 through decontamination training Supervisory qualification Further Training Essential Evidence of on-going Continuous Professional Development Experience Essential Experience of working within Decontamination Services Use of a tracking information system Desirable Previous supervisory experience Contractual Requirements Essential Weekday, weekend and Bank Holiday On Call Requirement To work Saturday and Sunday rota as part of working week Flexible approach to role, where there is a requirement to provide supervision of the service Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
