About The Role Managing Director - Mayflower National role (regular commute to Woolwich / Tamworth) We are looking for the right person to join us here at Mayflower Washroom Solutions as Managing Director. The Role The Managing Director will lead Mayflowers Consumables & Washrooms divisions, with full accountability for strategy, growth, and operational performance. This role demands a commercially astute and visionary leader with a proven track record in managing large-scale, service-led businesses. The MD will drive financial results, customer satisfaction, and a high-performance culture, reporting to the Group CEO and collaborating with the Executive Team. A key focus will be on expanding e-commerce capabilities, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and delivering sustainable growth. With a strong foundation in place and ambitious growth plans ahead, this is an opportunity to drive real change and make a lasting impact within a well-established and trusted B2B services provider. Key Responsibilities Lead the division with full P&L responsibility (£40m turnover). Develop and execute divisional strategy aligned with Group objectives. Drive revenue growth, margin improvement, and long-term profitability. Oversee sales, operations, supply chain, and support functions. Ensure best-in-class customer service and operational compliance. Innovate across products, services, and processes, including e-commerce platform development. Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders. Provide clear performance reporting to the CEO and Executive Team. Lead strategic sales initiatives to grow washroom services and consumables. Unify and motivate Sales and Operations teams to meet customer needs. Drive customer acquisition and retention strategies. Set and monitor KPIs, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement. Collaborate cross-functionally to align commercial and operational plans. Stay informed on market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity. Critical Competencies for success Experience of operating a business of £40m+ turnover Proven ability to guide organisations through digital transformation and build scalable, profitable e commerce operations Negotiated strategic partnerships with marketplaces and logistics providers optimising supply chain and improving margins Strong commercial acumen with a history of delivering profitable growth. Proven leadership of cross-functional teams in B2B or service-led environments. Track record of operational excellence and business transformation. Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills. Knowledge of consumables, hygiene, or washrooms (desirable). Degree or equivalent qualification in business / management (preferred). Key KPIs Year-on-year profitable sales growth (£ revenue and gross margin). Customer retention (% and £). Customer satisfaction (NPS). Operational delivery (customer complaints). Optimized pricing and rate cards for profitable growth. Compliant commercial contracts minimizing risk exposure. Personal Characteristics Strategic thinker with strong commercial focus.
