Due to our ongoing growth, we are looking for a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to play a leading role in the growth of our IT team in our Blackburn.Location BlackburnAbout the roleThis role ensures that IT systems are secure, reliable, and scalable to meet the ongoing needs of the business. The engineer supports both day-to-day operations and long-term infrastructure projects, contributing to system improvements, automation efforts, and technical troubleshooting to maintain optimal performance and availability across all IT services.Key responsibilities2nd Line Troubleshooting / Executive IT SupportProactively monitor and remediate incidents using approved tools and practices.Mentoring / Point of Escalation for internal team membersEnsure Security and privacy of networks and computer systemsOwnership of systemsLiaising with 3rd party suppliers.Organise and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their workBackup and recovery ownershipMaintain clear and accurate documentation of issues, resolutions, and changes, ensuring timely stakeholder communicationOut of hours work will be required.What you will needExperience on the following would be an advantage:End user compute applications – Windows 10, 11 / Mac OSServer – 2016,2019,2022Hypervisor Technologies, Hyper-V, VMware & ProxmoxExperience with Cisco networking hardwareIdentity – Okta / Microsoft EntraVEEAM backup and replicationStrong Azure and Office 365 knowledgeTelephony – Teams / Webex / Poly & Logitech conferencing systemsCompetetive Salary (depending upon experience)Contributory Company Pension SchemeNon-contributory death-in-service insuranceEmployee Assistance Programme33 Days Holiday including BHFlexible working hours patternsDiscounted gym memberships across the UKIf you're interested in this position, please email your CV to our HR department using the button below.Notice to Agency and Search Firm Representatives:Vital Energi Utilities Ltd is not accepting unsolicited CVs from agencies and/or search firms for this job posting.
