Education Welfare Officer Company: Outcomes First Group Location: South West London and surrounding areas Employment type: Part-time (30 hours per week, 5 days, Term Time only – School Based) Actual Salary: Up to £24,000 per annum Job Description This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual looking to influence a positive change. WPA Education Welfare Services is expanding and seeks to recruit Education Welfare Officers to work in Lewisham and London and surrounding areas. The successful candidate will provide welfare support to families and schools where there are issues affecting school attendance. Education Welfare Officers regularly liaise with schools, parents and other agencies to provide support as necessary. Key Responsibilities Provide welfare support to families and schools regarding attendance issues. Maintain regular liaison with schools, parents, and other agencies. Complete reports for schools, ensuring clear verbal and written communication. Conduct home visits where required (must have a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle). Adapt to working in different environments and work under pressure to meet deadlines. Skills & Qualifications Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong inter-personal problem‑solving ability. Ability to liaise with Headteachers and other senior staff. Mediation skills. Proficient use of IT, including Word and Excel. Full driving licence and availability of a vehicle. Aptitude Proven track record for delivering a service that enables pupils to receive their entitlement to education. Support families and pupils in addressing attendance matters and enforce relevant legislation where necessary. Reduce absence and increase attendance and achievement. Safeguarding and child welfare knowledge, contributing to risk assessment and decision‑making processes.
