Locations Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland, Stockton-on-TeesJob DescriptionDo you want to be at the forefront of one of the world’s most ambitious sustainability initiatives?Balfour Beatty have created iconic buildings and infrastructure all over the world over the past 115 years redefining excellence and setting the industry benchmark with every project.As a result, alongside several consortium partners; Balfour Beatty have been selected by bp (British Petroleum) to construct a first-of-a-kind fully integrated gas-fired power station with carbon capture and storage which is a key driving force behind plans to make Teesside the UK’s first decarbonised industrial cluster.Balfour Beatty is seeking a dynamic Project Administratorto contribute to the Net Zero Teesside(NZT) project based at our site in Redcar and Cleveland.The Administrator plays a vital role within the Administration and Support function, ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of our Project Administration.This role will support across our NZT function and – you must be ready and willing to join the team and thrive in a fast-paced environment and be adaptable to managing multiple tasks and responsibilities.Key AccountabilitiesAct as a focal point for all general administrative duties to support the efficient running of the project – this will involve everything from front of house duties to minute-taking, organising visitors to keeping on top of all our recordsDevise and maintain efficient office administration processes to support seamless team operationsCover reception duties when needed: screen calls, manage messages, and respond to enquiriesAssist with the daily plan and book rooms both internally and externally for meetingsOrganise and produce confidential documents, reports, and presentationsManage multiple diaries and plan schedules to optimise executives’ working daysScreen and manage incoming correspondence, including mail, telephone calls, and emails, on behalf of executives as requiredArrange and attend executive meetings and conferences, including taking minutes and organising facilitiesBook travel and accommodation for both UK and overseas tripsPrepare and track personal expenses and other related expenditureMaintain accurate and secure filing systems (both paper-based and electronic), including archivingMaintain confidentiality of sensitive business information at all timesPerform ad hoc confidential project work and data analysis as requiredReview internal presentation documents and run ad hoc reportsCarry out any additional administrative tasks as directed by the line managerPersonal Qualities and ExperienceHighly motivated, proactive, and practical with a strong work ethicExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build effective relationships at all levelsHonest, reliable, and professional with a high degree of discretion and confidentialityOrganised with exceptional timekeeping, multi-tasking, and prioritisation abilitiesComputer literate with expert knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and ExcelPrevious experience supporting senior executives at board level is desirableProven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a teamLogical, proactive approach with strong attention to detailEffective under pressure and able to meet tight deadlinesAbility to handle confidential issues with great sensitivityOur people are our biggest asset and we focus on recruiting, training and developing the people who can apply innovation to deliver the infrastructure of the future.
