Mechanical Estimator | London | £55,000 £65,000 Benefits Were seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join a leading engineering and construction contractor based in London, supporting the commercial and project delivery teams across multiple high-profile projects.Read the overview of this opportunity to understand what skills, including and relevant soft skills and software package proficiencies, are required.This is an excellent opportunity to join a progressive company with a reputation for delivering technically complex projects across data centres, industrial, and large-scale MEP sectors.The successful candidate will play a key role in the pre-construction and tendering process, ensuring competitive, accurate, and profitable mechanical bids.Reporting to the Estimating Manager, youll work closely with the commercial and project teams to prepare detailed mechanical cost estimates, manage tender submissions, and liaise with clients and suppliers to support business growth and project delivery.Key Responsibilities Prepare, review, and collate mechanical tenders within agreed deadlines.Analyse project drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities to produce detailed mechanical cost estimates.Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations, identifying inclusions, exclusions, and commercial risks.Prepare and present final tender documentation for management review.Liaise with clients and attend post-tender meetings to clarify mechanical proposals.Support the Estimating Manager in pricing strategy and bid planning.Maintain and update cost databases and benchmark data.Contribute to value engineering exercises to enhance project profitability.Attend internal and external meetings as required.Requirements 5 years experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the M&E, building services, or construction sectors.Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or Quantity Surveying.Strong understanding of mechanical systems and services in large-scale construction projects.Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills.Proficient in MS Office, Excel, and estimating software (e.g.ConQuest, Cubit, CostX).Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team Whats on Offer £55,000 £65,000 base salary (DOE) Performance-based bonus scheme Clear progression path into Senior Estimator or Commercial Management roles Ongoing professional training and development Supportive, high-performing team environmentd02fcfcb-6df4-40ee-95cf-3eb059ce3173
