We need a colleague who is organised and enthusiastic with a can-do attitude and strong communication skills to help the Finance Team grow as the company scales. It is important that you work well within a team, can balance competing priorities and can communicate effectively with senior colleagues. Below is just a selection of what you can expect:Working with the Project Accountant to maintain the finance database, client invoices, timesheet reviews and client budget trackingWorking with the Management Accountant to progress journals, Fixed Asset Register, VAT Returns, control accounts, expenses, credit card reconciliations and variance analysisSupporting our Supplier Manager with supplier purchase orders and invoices, payment runs, bank reconciliations, supplier management and helping maintain our Fair Payment Gold AwardAssisting the Company Accountant with the annual audit, compliance activities and Companies House returns RequirementsEssential Experience :A relevant degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline such as AATStrong understanding of basic accounting principles and processesExperience (through study placement or work) with VAT returns and reconciliationsControl accounts and balance sheet reconciliationsProcessing expenses and invoicesProficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting softwareExcellent attention to detail and accuracyStrong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workloadDesirable Experience :Previous experience working in a finance or accounting teamFamiliarity with standard accounting packagesKnowledge of month-end processes and journal postingsInterest in working towards a professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA CIMA) Key competencies for successResilience and adaptability to work effectively in environments of uncertainty, change and agile deliveryProven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within tight deadlinesStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate differing perspectives and maintain positive working relationshipsSound professional judgement and decision-making in complex environments where risk must be carefully managedExcellent communication skills including clear written outputs and confident verbal delivery Other information2 Year Graduate ProgrammeYou will progress your professional accountancy exams during your employmentYou will be based in our impressive Grade II listed office in the centre of AltrinchamTravel to ad hoc events may be required We are happy to consider applicants with a variety of experience levels.
