The Role This is a varied, interesting and often fast-moving role with a large degree of independence and scope for growth within a dynamic young company. Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer (COO), you will be responsible for planning, resourcing and driving all engineering activities. Plan and coordinate engineering activities and communications which support TIA Group business delivery Act as the main point of contact for initial technical enquiries alongside the Chief Operations Officer Monitor and manage engineering activities in line with recognised service levels and key performance indicators Keep the COO and TIA Group stakeholders fully informed on key business activities, service levels and trends in engineering best practice Be completely familiar with all of the current standards associated with delivering routine Engineering activities Lead on the TIA Group input to bids regarding engineering and technical aspects Work with key stakeholders to plan and meet customer driven support requirements Forecast resource and equipment requirements to ensure sufficient capacity to meet project timelines, milestones and other contracted or routine commitments. Undertake any other reasonable duties as required. Responsibilities Manage, mentor and support the electronics and mechanical design engineering team Create a technical strategy, training and equipment proposal Implement and monitor technical strategy performance metrics Communicate engineer team goals with engineering staff members Coordinate internal teams to ensure project timelines and budgets are met Qualifications Degree/HND or equivalent in related discipline with a general knowledge of ICT, communications and electronics, preferably Military/Government in nature. MUST BE A BRITISH PASSPORT HOLDER AND WILLING TO UNDERGO GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE Experience of Systems Engineering including Electro-Mechanical project engineering in the defence sector Adaptable and quick thinking Strong interpersonal and team management skills Strong team player; flexible and able to multi-task Good communicator with strong presentation skills Broad experience of Defence and Commercial Engineering standard Experience and understanding in dealing with a variety of cultures Experience of dealing with Government and Military customers.
