Your next role We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Small Works Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in supporting fire safety operations by delivering small-scale engineering projects and maintenance tasks. Your expertise will help ensure all fire safety systems are compliant, reliable, and optimised, making a real difference to the safety and confidence of the people and businesses we serve. What you will be doing Install and commission small to medium-scale fire alarm projects, working with both addressable and non-addressable systems Commission systems from a range of manufacturers Review project specifications, drawings, and documentation to plan and deliver high-quality outcomes Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring every interaction is professional and solutions-focused Troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently while building positive customer relationships Complete reports, timesheets, and expenses accurately and on time Attend scheduled appointments punctually and maintain a clean and tidy work environment Communicate promptly with the office in the event of major system issues or site challenges Represent the company professionally on all customer sites Who we are looking for Advanced experience working with fire alarm systems FIA Units 1, 2 / 3, and 5 Proven skills in installation and commissioning Solid understanding of electrical installation procedures in the fire and security industry Strong verbal and written communication, with the ability to produce clear reports and documentation A proactive problem-solver who builds trust and rapport with clients The ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications A high level of attention to detail, initiative, and professionalism We value curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn so even if you don’t tick every box, we still encourage you to apply.
