Role Outline Boston University Study Abroad London is seeking a lecturer to teach a section of the core course in Psychology and Health Sciences as part of our Spring 2026 London Internship Programme for American study abroad students. Starting from Thursday 15th January, teaching is for 5 weeks on Wednesdays and Thursdays, (AM or PM slots) amounting to 40 classroom contact hours in total, plus final exam coverage for the course, which concludes on Friday 13th February. There is one irregular teaching date on Friday 16th January. Additionally, Friday 30th January and Friday 6th February are reserved as a contingency teaching days, to be utilised if any lectures cannot be delivered as planned during the academic calendar. Psychology and Social Issues: British Perspectives This course draws on British contributions to psychological theory and research to promote social inquiry into selected current social issues facing Britain today, together with an appreciation of the experiences and roles of the individual in community settings. Students will consider contemporary challenges relating to issues such as intergroup conflict, the influence of bias in policy and decision-making, socioeconomic factors’ impact on health and educational outcomes, the impact of innovation and technology on psychology, behaviour change intervention to help combat climate change, equity and equality, activism, violence, crime, social disorder, immigration and asylum seeking, sexual discrimination, health and wellbeing. Required Skills The successful candidate will be a highly skilled, confident, and accomplished lecturer in Psychology, with a proven track record in innovative, student‑centred pedagogy. A PhD in a relevant discipline is required. Applicants should possess excellent cross‑cultural communication skills and a strong record of undergraduate teaching, ideally with experience supporting international or Study Abroad students.
