You should have completed the UK Foundation examinations and acquired a minimum of 12 months post-qualification experience in a private practice, law firm or industrial IP department. You should be working towards qualification as both a UK and European patent attorney and have acquired practical experience of drafting patent applications. Contributing to the firm’s commercial strategy and working collaboratively within a team. Secondments for attorneys to work within clients’ own IP departments when appropriate.
