Associate Lecturer - Computing - Birmingham Arden University is looking to fill an Associate Lecturer (Computing) position in our School of STEM, School of Computing, Birmingham campus. This is a work‑based, on‑site role – only candidates based in the UK will be considered. Pay & Working hours Average weekly hours (not guaranteed): 6‑9 Hourly rate: from £50.42 for Blended Learning, £86.44 for Distance Learning, £65.86 for Dissertation Supervision Working model: On‑site at Birmingham campus Key Responsibilities Teaching and Learning (BL): Deliver classroom‑based sessions, engage students via online platforms, provide feedback and enhance the student learning experience. Marking & Assessment: Participate in standardisation exercises, undertake formative and summative marking, and meet strict deadlines. Supervision: Provide high‑quality supervision and guidance for student projects and dissertations. Authoring Content: Develop or revise engaging lecture and learning content, ensuring copyright compliance. Other Duties: Attend meetings, peer reviews and staff development activities to maintain teaching quality. About You – Essential qualifications and skills A degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience. Experience teaching and assessing students within the UK higher education sector. Experience delivering student‑centred teaching and, for DL roles, experience teaching through distance learning. Up‑to‑date industry experience. Fellowship of Advance HE (or willingness to work towards it with Arden’s support). Desirable qualifications and skills A teaching qualification. For teaching at postgraduate level, a postgraduate qualification or equivalent. Benefits Rolled up holiday pay and Christmas closure.
