We are shaping the future as society’s preferred EV charging network.Delivery Overview: In 2025 Char.gy expects to be awarded multiple contracts with Local Government organisations and private landlords to deploy Charging Points (CPs) across the UK and aims to deploy 100,000 CPs by 2030. The Delivery Team is growing to meet this demand and requires a Network Designer to lead on the creation of Network Design for each Delivery Project.Position overviewThe Network Designer role will lead Char.gy’s infrastructure network design for all customers. Develop the OmniEVision system that uses demand forecast and a variety of data sources to establish a Network Plan for each customer, evolved as site selection and delivery progresses. The Network Designer will report to the Head of Delivery, lead a team of Network Planners and work with the delivery organisation and its suppliers to ensure the deployed network meets business and customer needs. They will be expected to be an expert in the development of the data-driven mapping tool and to develop robust processes that ensure Network Designs are best in class.The work will include leading, evolving the Network Planning tool with AI/ML, and collaborating with the Bid, Delivery and Success teams to win work and maintain an optimised network throughout the contract lifecycle.ResponsibilitiesLead – provide thought leadership to create exceptional Network Designs for EV infrastructure across customer deliveries.Create and evolve – take the existing Network Planning tool to the next level using AI and machine learning to support the Bid team, the Delivery team and the Success team.Manage Suppliers – identify and establish tools and data sources required to create exceptional Network Designs.Key responsibilitiesCreate and maintain an AI-based Network Planning toolDocument processes used by the Network Planning teamSupport the Bid team initiatives to win work, the Delivery team to deploy efficiently, and the Success team to maintain an optimized network for the contract durationCollaborate with customers and suppliers to ensure Network Designs meet requirements and align with Char.gy business needs; identify optimal EV charge point site locationsBased in London with a balance of office, home and field workPerson specificationEssentialLeader in Network Planning with strong GIS and data analysis skills used to develop Network Planning tools and produce clear design and policy documentationExcellent map-based data analysis including demand-based usage predictions, power grid availability, demographic layers and traffic analysisAwareness of financial calculations based on demand with break-even analysis and revenue projectionsProven track record of Network PlanningOutstanding communicator with effective written and verbal skills across Delivery stakeholdersDesirableUnderstanding of working with Local GovernmentsExperience in a delivery organisation supporting internal and external stakeholdersExperience in the EV industryResearch in emerging AI-driven mapping technologyWhat we offerBeing committed to our employees means offering more than a competitive salary.
