Overview We are looking for a highly motivated and inspirational individual to join our staff team at South Staffordshire College. The ‘CCSL’ provision is part of the ‘Discrete’ SEND provision across three of our mainstream campus sites – Lichfield, Rodbaston and Tamworth. This allows us to provide a high‑quality, fully inclusive learning environment for learners with a wide variety of learning difficulties and/or disabilities as a pre‑vocational course offer, assisting their transition into the ‘mainstream’ vocational areas within the college. Due to one of our team members leaving us, we wish to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated qualified teacher who can work effectively and imaginatively to provide first‑class learning experiences for our learners and assist with their preparation to adulthood. We desire a highly skilled teacher who will work independently as well as within a team to inspire our learners. Our provision focuses on delivering BTEC Pre‑Vocational study programmes, designed to support each of our learners to achieve the best possible outcomes, ranging from RARPA to formal qualifications in Pearson BTEC, maths and English (entry level to GCSE). Responsibilities The timetable for this candidate will include teaching maths and English at entry level, as well as Pearson BTEC qualifications. You will develop and deliver high‑quality lessons, support learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, and collaborate with the direct teaching team and business support teams. Qualifications and Experience Qualified teacher with experience of working with learners with learning disabilities and/or disabilities Strong team player with a real desire to help young adults realise their potential Knowledge of SEND reforms and the Education Health Care Plan process is an advantage Will be trained and developed on all aspects of the role in collaboration with the direct teaching team and support staff Enhanced Disclosure with child and adult and barred list check required for the position Benefits Generous holiday scheme including bank holidays, an additional 5 days at Christmas and 2 ‘ME’ days for personal wellbeing Additional day on campus dedicated to wellbeing activities Paid time off for emergencies (support for carers) College pension contribution of at least 20.9% (higher for Local Government Pension Scheme members) All applications must be received by: Sunday 4th January 2026.
