OverviewJoin to apply for the Commercial Regulatory Affairs Advisor role at SEFE Marketing & Trading LtdAs a Commercial Regulatory Affairs Advisor you will identify operational and trading risks and opportunities arising from regulatory compliance requirements and jurisdictional policy developments. This includes monitoring Gas, Power, Carbon and LNG regulation to identify current and potential new regulatory compliance requirements and assess how they could impact existing trading strategy or inform and drive new strategies. Understanding the commercial strategy, potential new markets and products you will help shape the future direction of the trading organisation. You will also be responsible for:Working extensively with the Carbon, Power and Environmental product desks to navigate, analyse and assess climate policies and regulation in compliance carbon markets to support commercial strategy and the origination and development of carbon projectsMaintain thorough knowledge of current regulations and potential developments of regulation and market design across Carbon markets and productsRepresent SEFE and the SEFE Group’s best interest in consultation processes and selective advocacy (ensuring alignment across the SEFE group and with senior management)Identify significant regulatory challenges and commercial opportunities for Gas, Power, Carbon and LNG arising from the planned strategy and tactics, for the current and future regulatory environments including working with the Front Office and support functions to develop corresponding action plansBuild relationships with relevant regulators, energy infrastructure operators, exchanges, standards, international bodies and relevant counterparties through active participation in consultation processes, regulatory enquiries and industry forumsWork with the Front Office Trading desks and Operational Planning and Management team and the relevant support functions to ensure necessary operational arrangements are implemented for new business developmentRegulatory experience gained through working in a regulatory body or in a regulatory function in a commercial company or in an economic regulatory consultancy role is essential.QualificationsAdvanced knowledge in regulated compliance schemes and voluntary Carbon markets, including the EU ETS (EUAs 1 and EUAs 2), UK ETS (UKAs), California Carbon Allowances (CCAs), and CORSIAKnowledge of the various fungibilities arising between the voluntary carbon market and carbon compliance marketsA good understanding of EU/UK wholesale energy markets can be an advantageExposure to commodities trading and retailing environments within a highly commercial and entrepreneurial focused business would be an advantageCommercial experience of monetizing opportunities is a distinct advantageAble to distil information, grasp commercial concepts, construct compelling arguments and execute effective advocacy and support lobbyingBalance understanding of the carbon regulatory frameworks and market design with commercial insightLocation: London is to be considered a priority for this positionPosting: 03/07/2025 to 17/07/2025Recruiter: Sami BryanEmployment detailsSeniority level: Mid-Senior levelEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: LegalIndustries: Oil and Gas #J-18808-Ljbffr
