We are looking for a Band 6 wound care podiatrist to support the podiatry department and acute foot multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver specialist foot care as part of the multidisciplinary foot team at the Royal Free Hospital. The acute foot MDT comprises diabetes, vascular, infectious diseases and podiatry treating complex diabetic, vascular and other acute foot patients. Treating and triaging patients into the defined clinical pathways both internally and externally will be a key component within the post holder’s role. Advanced wound care techniques, including total contact casting and use of negative pressure are part of regular care. The successful candidate is required to be able to demonstrate the Trust values, the responsibilities of the job description and person specification. In particular, experience of demonstrating considerable post registration experience in diabetes, vascular disease and other acute foot conditions is a must. Candidates should be highly motivated, have the ability to cope with and manage clinical emergencies, and positively manage stress in a busy and demanding environment. This post also requires high level of understanding in clinical governance, audit, risk management, safeguarding, duty of candour and evidence based practice.
