You can also see our full list of employee benefits on our careers site: "Why you should work for us" | West Northamptonshire Council. In addition to the statutory library service, Northamptonshire’s LibraryPlus supports a number of Community Managed Libraries which are run by volunteers. Your role will be to support these libraries in their day-to-day work, train volunteers to deliver the best possible library service to their local community, and carry out regular monitoring reviews against a Service Level Agreement to ensure quality service delivery. The post is based in Northampton, but is a flexible role. The role will include frequent travel to libraries located across the whole county, so you must be able to travel independently, sometimes at short notice. This is a half-time role which may require occasional weekend working for volunteer training, so you will need to be flexible to the business needs of the service. Responsibilities Support community groups to facilitate the running of Library Access Points, and monitor and review their performance to benefit local communities. Design and deliver bespoke training to a range of community representatives. Act as a source of operational expertise and be the first point of contact for Community Managed Libraries. Qualifications Completed GCSEs in Maths and English. Willing to gain detailed knowledge of LibraryPlus policies and procedures, stock management and the workings of the Library Management System. Confident in working with volunteers, identifying their training needs, and ensuring quality library services are delivered from each Community Managed Library. Strong capacity to work within a small team, as well as independently, prioritising workload day to day. Fit the requirements outlined in the Person Specification and address all aspects in your supporting statement. Personal Attributes Motivated and enthusiastic, with the ability to think on your feet. Flexible in approach, seeking a role where no two days are the same. Excellent communication skills, able to build good working relationships at all levels. If you can answer yes to these questions then you could be the person we are looking for. #J-18808-Ljbffr
