Overview Job description: Male Mental Health Support Worker Location – Runcorn, Cheshire £12.21 per hour Role Description Gray Healthcare are recruiting a Mental Health Support Worker within the Runcorn area of Cheshire to support a male in his 30s who has a diagnosis of Psychosis and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). The male we support lives independently in his own home receiving 1 : 2 : 1 support 24 hours a day. He has a good sense of humour. His interests include swimming, walking and cycling. He has an interest in astronomy. He likes to play video games on his PS5 or XBOX and enjoys watching Warrington Wolves Rugby team in person with his family or on the TV. He is supported by a male only team on mixed shifts of days and waking nights. We are recruiting drivers only for this role as the individual we support will have a mobility vehicle to access the community. Support Worker Required Skills and Experience Full UK Driving License – Essential. Social care experience, ideally within Psychosis, Autism, Learning Disabilities and with some experience of supporting individuals with mental health needs such as anxiety. Experience providing encouragement to a person with complex health needs. Experience supporting individuals with behaviours which may be considered challenging. Experience implementing detailed care plans and risk assessments. You must have current Right to Work in the UK and have been employed in the UK for at least 6 months. We no longer have any certificates of sponsorship available and are unable to consider sponsorship. This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references Hours 24-hour Days Contract + 1 Sleep Shift. 2 x 12 Day shifts per week (Alternative weekends) Sleep rate paid at £100 per sleep Induction and Training We provide an initial week of training which is a combination of online training (Company induction, systems, and Medication). Followed by in-person training on PROACT-SCIPr-UK which is a PBS approach to least restrictive practice. This is a therapeutic and proven alternative to restraint-dominated approaches. You will then complete the person-centred training, specific to the person that you are supporting. Training continues throughout your time with Gray Healthcare, and we encourage you to develop and grow your career with us.
