Survivor Support Coordinator – Holocaust Educational Trust Permanent Hours Location Central London Office (hybrid working available in accordance with the charity's policies) Sector Operations 9am, 10th December 2025 About The Role The Survivor Support Coordinator’s role is to provide logistical and wellbeing support to Holocaust survivors in relation to their voluntary engagements booked through the Holocaust Educational Trust. Holocaust survivors are at the heart of the Trust’s mission, sharing powerful personal testimony and experience to inspire and educate students across the country. As the survivors we work with become fewer and frailer, it becomes ever more important that the Trust provides support in relation to every engagement at which survivors speak to audiences through the Trust. The Survivor Support Coordinator ensures that when survivors speak to audiences through the Trust, they feel prepared, supported and valued, before and after all their engagements. They are a key point of contact for the survivor community working with the Trust; ensuring that prior to every engagement they’ve received all relevant details; confirming travel arrangements and bookings; and following up with survivors after engagements to see how they went. The Survivor Support Coordinator will also occasionally provide practical support to members of the next generation who also speak to schools and other organisations via the Trust’s programmes. This role is ideal for someone who has experience of working with older adults, is highly organised, empathetic, and enjoys building supportive relationships. You will not be managing anyone directly but will work closely with both the school logistics team and outreach delivery teams. You will be a trusted, friendly presence for our survivor speakers. Key Responsibilities Act as a key point of contact for all Holocaust survivors who are working together with the Trust as speakers. Proactively contact all speakers 6-8 days before their scheduled sessions to check all information is received and again the day before any engagement; and following the event, reach out to them to undertake a welfare check and event review. Ahead of special events, coordinate travel for Holocaust survivor and next generation attendees and draft briefings for speakers for special events. Ensure speakers are prepared for engagements: assisting with updating PowerPoint presentations and speaking notes. Flag issues related to safeguarding, welfare, or the Trust’s programmes following check‑in calls, supporting relevant programme managers and colleagues. Hold regular one-to-one catch up meetings with Holocaust survivors both in-person and online. Attend special events organised by the Trust for Holocaust survivors and members of the next generation. This is not an exhaustive list, and the job holder may be asked to complete additional tasks by their line manager or members of senior management. Person Specification Experience of working with older adults in either a volunteer or professional capacity. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – warm, clear, and empathetic. Highly organised and reliable, with strong attention to detail. Comfortable speaking on the phone and offering calm, thoughtful support. Able to work independently and manage your own workload. Skilled in use of email, calendars, spreadsheets, MS Teams, and digital tools. Knowledge of, and/or interest in, education, public speaking, or volunteering engagement. Familiarity with, and preferably experience in, safeguarding. For more information about the role, or to receive a personal recommendation, please contact our recruitment team.
