OverviewInfrastructure Support Engineer at PA Consulting. This is a hands-on, in-office role based in the Melbourn office. We operate globally from offices in the UK, Ireland, US, Nordics, and Netherlands.Infrastructure TeamThe Infrastructure Team are a point of escalation for UK users, based in the Cambridge office. The team combines problem-solving skills with high-quality customer service to resolve user issues quickly and efficiently, using established processes and independent investigation to identify, resolve and document fixes in case of recurrence. The role involves managing technically rich environments to develop skills in technical management, automation and operations, while ensuring environments are available, reliable and secure.ResponsibilitiesProvide end-to-end support for users as part of the Technology and Operations pillar, including the Global Service Desk, 2nd line, Application Support, Operations, Infrastructure and Digital Workspace teams.Act as the point of escalation for UK users and resolve issues quickly and efficiently.Use established processes and independent investigation to identify, resolve and document fixes to prevent recurrence.Maintain segregated, technically rich environments and ensure they are available, reliable, secure and meet business demands.Collaborate with teams to implement automation and improve infrastructure operations.Be flexible with weekend and on-call duties as required.QualificationsAbout youYou’ll have strong knowledge designing, building, maintaining and supporting Azure cloud environments including implementing Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) (Essential).Excellent knowledge of M365 and O365, Exchange, virtual hosting including Omnissa (VMware Horizon) and Hyper-V, SaaS Backup Platforms and Group Policy.Excellent knowledge of network and infrastructure cloud systems including firewall management.Good troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure to identify and fix IT security vulnerabilities as well as implementing new IT technologies and services.Strong effective communication skills at all organisational levels and the ability to write clear documentation.Comfortable working independently or in a team, using own initiative.Organisational skills to plan and maintain the infrastructure ensuring it remains current and available.BenefitsHealth and lifestyle perks accompanying private healthcare for you and your family25 days annual leave (plus a bonus half day on Christmas Eve) with the opportunity to buy 5 additional daysGenerous company pension schemeOpportunity to get involved with community and charity-based initiativesAnnual performance-based bonusPA share ownershipTax efficient benefits (cycle to work, give as you earn)Equal opportunityWe are committed to advancing equality.
