Senior UnderwriterAre you ready to lead with confidence and shape underwriting strategy?Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where your decisions make a real impact?Join us as an Senior Underwriter – this is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Chelmsford officeAon is in the business of better decisionsAt Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive team and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.What the day will look likeHelp oversee the underwriting process including aggregates for the Terrorism SPSProvide guidance and training on technical underwriting issues to any direct reportsAbility to quote new, renewal and mid term amendments in line with the delegated underwriting authority, agreement and Underwriting guideEnsuring that individual risks are bound promptly and in accordance with the delegated underwriting authorityRecording of risks on the Policy Administration System in an accurate and timely fashionMeeting agreed service standards to bind risks and ensure that the relevant policies are accurate and issued within agreed timescalesEnsuring full compliance with the Delegated Authority from insurersBuilding an excellent working relationship with the Local retail networks and GBC teamsBuilding excellent working relationships with supporting insurerParticipate in regular insurer meetings to review progress of the facilityWork with Insurers to deliver the underwriting strategy, to understand Insurers’ risk appetite and expectationsMaintain a high level of technical knowledge and input into technical and commercial market intelligenceMonitor and control of new and renewal business, including aggregate monitoringCompleting Mid Term adjustments accurately and in a timely mannerTo act fully in compliance with FCA rules and guidelines and with Aon PolicyAssist in meeting the teams financial budget/planSkills and experience that will lead to successPrevious Terrorism or International Property experience in the London Insurance MarketTrack record in technical UnderwritingWell-developed influencing skills and the ability to achieve success through othersExcellent problem-solving skills, analytical and numerical skillsProven interpersonal skills, capable of dealing with domestic and international clients, business stakeholders and external bodies.Commercial acumen and negotiation skills of the highest order.Able to motivate and inspire team to achieve successMotivation, coaching and development of staffWell-developed knowledge of FSA requirements and standardsAble to establish and maintain relationships with brokers and carriersHow we support our colleaguesIn addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage an inclusive workforce.
