Role Overview:
We are looking for a mechanically skilled operative with experience in mechanical systems, groundworks, and plant operation. The ideal candidate will be reliable, flexible, and capable of working independently or as part of a team on infrastructure and construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate and maintain mechanical equipment and tools
* Assist with groundworks and civil engineering tasks
* Conduct inspections, basic repairs, and routine maintenance
* Support site supervisors and project managers
* Ensure compliance with health and safety standards
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
* Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience
* CSCS
* Experience with plant machinery (e.g., 360 excavator, telehandler)
* Confined Space certification and experience
* Thames Water passport
* Ability to read technical drawings and follow instructions
* Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Desirable:
* First Aid certification
* Utility mapping experience
* Willingness to travel and work flexible hours
