We are building a team of expert fire engineers and FRAEW specialists who will support clients with complex buildings, HRBs, high-rise structures and challenging regulatory contexts.This is a unique opportunity to join an ambitious consultancy as it scales nationally — offering autonomy, influence and a platform to shape how a modern fire consultancy is built.About the RoleThe Principal Fire Engineer (FRAEW) will act as the subject-matter expert for PAS9980 and external wall assessments within our consultancy division. You will lead complex FRAEW projects, support national clients, and help develop the internal capability of Harmony’s growing external wall team.Your work will directly influence how Harmony Fire delivers external wall services across HRBs and tall buildings, and you’ll play a critical role in mentoring engineers, establishing best practice, and ensuring technical consistency across the business.Key ResponsibilitiesLead FRAEW assessments following the PAS9980 methodologyProvide expert insight on external wall systems for complex/high-rise buildingsSupport Scotland’s Single Building Assessment (SBA) process where applicableMentor and develop junior FRAEW practitionersProduce high-quality FRAEW reports and recommendationsSupport client communication and act as a senior technical representativeUse digital inspection tools including Bluebeam, RISKBASE and RISKFLAGContribute to the development of Harmony’s national external wall service modelSkills, Experience & Qualifications10+ years’ experience in fire engineering or specialised FRAEW workDegree in Fire Engineering or Level 6 fire-related qualificationProfessional membership at MiFireE or equivalentDemonstrable experience delivering FRAEW for HRBs / 18m+ buildingsRICS Level 6 External Wall qualification preferredExperience working within PAS9980 methodologyExperience leading or mentoring teamsStrong knowledge of Fire Safety Order 2005 & Building Safety Act 2022Engineering Council membership (EngTech/IEng/CEng) or working towardsConfident communicator, highly organised and detail-focusedBenefitsUnlimited holidayPrivate medical schemeBonus scheme up to 50% of salaryEuropean mini-breaks and company eventsTakeaway Friday, fruit, snacks and refreshments providedCycle to Work schemeEnhanced maternity and paternityTeam social budgetAuto-enrolment pension schemeOur ValuesAthletes Grit – Determination, resilience and drive to deliver excellenceCaptains Duty – Accountability, leadership and ownershipFun Loving Heart – Positivity, energy and genuine support for others #J-18808-Ljbffr
