You will support the Consultant Psychiatrist with the day-to-day management of patients across two wards and provide support as required across the site.A Specialty Doctor post provides an excellent opportunity for career progression and those interested in working towards entry onto the Specialist Register.You will need to hold GMC registration and completed at least four years postgraduate training at least two of which will be within a psychiatry training programme, preferably in an inpatient setting.Main duties of the jobOur inpatient wards offer an excellent opportunity to manage patients with an acute mental illness that are requiring intensive support for a short period of time. Working with a consultant psychiatrist, you will provide day-to-day clinical management of male patients across George and Eden wards.Duties will include taking psychiatric histories, performing mental state examinations and formulating the information in a structure manner. You will also attend ward rounds and multi disciplinary team meetings, liaising with other clinical teams for the best care of patients.
