We offer a flexible, supportive environment where people can perform at their best and contribute to a better future.About The RoleAs a Metering Installations Engineer, you will deliver high-quality sub-metering solutions across commercial and industrial sites. Your work supports building compliance, carbon reduction, energy data visibility, tenant billing, and operational efficiency. This is a hands-on role from site surveys to installation, commissioning, and post‑installation support. You will be the face of Optimised on client sites, ensuring professional, safe, and compliant installations.Carry out pre-installation site surveys to assess electrical infrastructure and metering requirements.Install CT Sub-Meters, data loggers, cabling, and containment in line with company standards, wiring regulations, and best practice.Connect Sub-Meters to data collection systems via M-Bus, Modbus, TCP/IP, or LoRa.Collaborate with the Support Desk and Applications team to support commissioning, troubleshoot issues, and validate data flows.Maintain accurate records, update internal systems, and capture evidence of completed installations.Engage directly with clients on-site, ensuring professional communication and safe working practices.Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing knowledge, mentoring colleagues, and keeping up to date with new technologies and regulations.Adhere to health and safety practices and maintain valid certifications.Qualifications and SkillsRecognised UK Level 3 Electrical Apprenticeship or JIB Gold Card (or equivalent)18th Edition (BS7671:2018) Wiring RegulationsExperience with installing CT Sub-Metering on three-phase suppliesStrong knowledge of Health & Safety practices and valid certificationAbility to work confidently with electrical infrastructure and Sub-Metering systemsFamiliarity with M-Bus, Modbus, or other communications protocols (desirable)Strong attention to detail and analytical skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships digitally and in personHigh IT literacyPurpose-driven mindset and an open, collaborative mannerPassion for social or environmental issuesProactive attitude, resilience, and ability to work in a fast-paced environmentAccountability to yourself and othersEligibility to work in the UK and full UK driving licenceJob DetailsSeniority level: Entry levelEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: Information TechnologyBenefitsCompetitive starting salary25 days annual leave increasing to 28 days with length of service (+ bank holidays)Option to buy/sell up to 3 days holiday each yearContributory pension scheme (5% matched)Life insurancePrivate medical insuranceEnhanced family leave policiesAward-winning employee assistance helpline and online GP serviceCycle to work and EV car schemeAnnual railcardAnnual flu jab and eye testProfessional development and sustainability allowance2 x sustainable holiday travel days1 day off paid each year to volunteer for a charityUp to one professional membership fee paid per yearRewards for introductions schemeWe understand candidates have varying experiences; if you’re passionate about our vision and have relevant experience, we’d love to hear from you.
