Full-Time Position - ASAP Start

A welcoming and inclusive specialist school in Newbury is seeking a Mental Health Assistant to join their dedicated team. This full-time, long-term position is perfect for those looking to gain hands-on experience in mental health, psychology, or education before pursuing a career in therapy, counselling, or social care.

As a Mental Health Assistant, you will work with students with a variety of needs, including Autism, ADHD, anxiety, and social-emotional difficulties. You will help pupils regulate their emotions, build confidence, and develop positive coping strategies in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Details:

Role: Mental Health Assistant
Location: Newbury
Salary: £89-£100 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
Start Date: ASAP
Ideal for: Psychology, Counselling, Criminology, or Education Graduates - or anyone passionate about children's mental healthYou will work alongside experienced Teachers, Therapists, and SEN staff to support students' emotional wellbeing and engagement in learning. The role involves both 1:1 and small group work, helping students build trust, resilience, and self-esteem.
