We have an exciting opportunity for a Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our Mental Health Team at HMP Garth. HMP Garth has a capacity of around 800 males and is a category B Prison located in Lancashire. The Advanced Nurse Practitioner will have experience working within Mental Health and is a prescriber; you will be based within the healthcare department and will also need to work on the prison wings. HMP Garth Offers Onsite parking Access to onsite gym Careers and development opportunities Hours Monday - Friday 37.5 hours per week 8am - 4pm Salary This position is permanent and you will receive an annual salary of between £59,677 - £66,792 per annum depending on experience. What you’ll be doing Demonstrate judgement in assessing and managing wide-ranging and complex patient problems Provide clinical leadership for the mental health team; this multi-disciplinary team is made up of a variety of registered and non-registered professionals including mental health and substance misuse practitioners Act as a role‑model ensuring professional appearance and maintaining professional standards at all times Support senior clinicians on site as part of the daily leadership team, providing clinical input for all patients Work with the team to ensure patient safety, manage complex cases and apply the most up-to-date treatment methodology to patient care If you are interested in career development, we have a wide range of opportunities for you to develop your skills and experience, which include both internal and external options for development and learning. Qualifications Required Registered Nurse – Adult Mental Health with current NMC or Registered Paramedic with current HCPC Independent or supplementary prescriber qualification MSc in Advanced Practice Experience working autonomously as an advanced clinical practitioner following best practice guidance Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
