Female Wake Night Support Worker Location: Hitchin, Hertfordshire Contract: Full Time Role Type: Permanent Working hours per week: 40 Salary: £12.71 per hour Closing Date: Sunday 25 January 2026 Western residential service – Ashwood Place is an 8‑bedded facility providing practical and emotional care for adults with learning and physical disabilities. The role requires flexibility to work shifts including bank holidays, weekends and potential sleep‑ins. Maintain effective communication and liaison with service users, families and others whilst respecting appropriate confidentiality. Support service users with the preparation of meals, laundry duties, cleaning and social events. Maintain accurate notes and records as and when required. Work as part of a team to provide high quality care. Personal Characteristics Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 3 (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one. Experience supporting adults with challenging behaviour, learning disabilities and/or mental health issues. Ability to keep calm under pressure. Confidence to work alone or as part of a team. Excellent communication skills. Passion to work with vulnerable adults. Desire and commitment to achieve high standards of safeguarding.
