Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust Optometrist The closing date is 17 Rhagfyr 2025 We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Optometrist to join the Ophthalmology team in our new Sight & Sound Department at Great Ormond Street Hospital. You will be required to provide extended role optometric support in a variety of different specialties of the busy Paediatric Ophthalmology department. These include Corneal, Retinal, Neurophthalmology and Complex Paediatric clinics as well as contact lens and low vision clinics. The post also includes involvement in the research being carried out in the department. We are looking for an enthusiastic Optometrist with paediatric and hospital experience who can carry out a wide range of complex optometric and ophthalmological procedures. You must have experience of working with children, have a caring, sensitive approach and enjoy working within a team. Fixed term end date 31/01/2027 Main duties of the job To carry out the administration required to maintain the service as well as other administrative tasks as delegated by the line manager Working both individually and as a member of the Ophthalmic team to provide advanced Optometric and Ophthalmological support within the Uveitis clinic. To undertake a wide range of complex clinical services as an extended role paediatric optometrist Discussing and informing patients and parents of highly complex and sensitive issues relating to their eye condition and treatment thereof.
