This is a mobile role that covers various sites in the Caledonian region including sites in Keith, Lossiemouth, Nairn and Inverness. The role is therefore easily accessible from Elgin, Forres, Kinloss, Lossiemouth and the surrounding areas.Here at Tarmac, we are working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it is important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.Role ResponsibilitiesCarry out technical testing, ensuring testing is carried out in accordance with BS EN Standards and accreditationsHelp manage and promote awareness of company safety policies and proceduresEnsure all product and constituent testing relating to aggregates and concrete products is carried out in a safe and timely mannerEnsure testing procedures are fully documented and understood and communicated to any relevant partiesPlay an active part in maintaining a strong HSE culture both within the department and on our sitesHelp to drive a zero-harm cultureBe commercially aware and understand the value to the business of a fast accurate testing serviceSupport cross functions in continuous improvement and business optimisationThe Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate for the role of Senior Technician will have laboratory experience gained within the construction sector and will possess knowledge of aggregate and/or concrete testing and production. This role is a hands-on, site-based position wearing Hi-Viz PPE and working in a small team closely supporting operational concrete plants.Suitable candidates for the role will possess a UK driving licence and be flexible to travel to different sites.
