OverviewThe hourly rate for this role is £12.98 and up to £14.36 across selected locations within London.As a Boots Health Clinic Specialist - Phlebotomist, you will conduct a variety of different pharmacy services within your in-store clinic, including taking venous blood samples from patients. From managing your appointment diary, greeting your patients and delivering the service, you will use your ability to connect with patients to provide exceptional patient centred care.You will spend your time building great relationships with your patients, listening to their concerns and managing every consultation with compassion. You will use your knowledge and training to confidently take every opportunity to provide holistic care and solutions which are right for the individual. You will have the opportunity every day to make a real difference to patients and with a wide range of responsibilities and services available - no two days will be the same.Key responsibilitiesDay to day management of the appointment diary to ensure that clinics are set up as required to deliver the necessary services safely and professionally.Ensure every individual arriving for a pre-booked appointment is greeted, booked into the system and all pre-consultation paperwork is completedTake venous blood samples from individuals according to UK guidelines, ensuring the integrity of the blood samples are maintained at all times, including appropriate storageEnsure samples are prepared for collection and that missed collections are escalated, ensuring samples reach the laboratory within the set timeframeCommunicate with the store leadership team, Pharmacist and pharmacy team to ensure safe and appropriate provision of the serviceOrder and maintain adequate stock of consumables and materials required to deliver the serviceEnsure the consultation space always meets the required consultation room standardsWhat you\'ll need to haveHealthcare Training Programme at NVQ2 or equivalent, or prepared to work through and complete within six monthsECG phlebotomy training and supervision including basic life support or prepared to work through and complete within six monthsEmpathetic, approachable and able to interact sensitively with customersIt would be great if you also haveExperience working within community pharmacyOur benefitsDiscretionary Christmas Gift PaymentGenerous staff discountEnhanced maternity/paternity/adoption leave pay and gift card for anyone expecting or adopting a childFlexible benefits schemeAccess to free, 24/7 counselling and support through TELUS Health, our Employee Assistance Programme.We have a great range of benefits in addition to the above that offer flexibility to suit you - find out more at boots.jobs/rewards.
