Senior Advisor - UK BAT - 32438, Environment Agency Do you want to make a lasting positive change to the environment? As a Senior Advisor in the UK BAT team you can. Overview Large installations in the UK are required to use ‘Best Available Techniques’ (BAT) to reduce emissions to air, water and land. The UK BAT Senior Advisor supports the drafting of BAT Conclusions, liaises with Technical Working Groups and presents a final document suitable for publication as a new UK‑wide environmental standard for industry. Responsibilities Support the drafting of BAT Conclusions. Liaise with Technical Working Groups. Present a final document suitable for publication as a new UK‑wide environmental standard. Coordinate the work of technical authors. Critical review of arguments and data. Ensure quality and delivery of technical documents. Manage project timelines and resources. Support inclusive incident management and development plans. Qualifications & Experience At least 5 years of working experience in environmental regulation over a variety of industrial sectors. Solid understanding of UK and EU industrial environmental legislation (e.g., IED, Environmental Permitting Regulations). Experience coordinating and reviewing publication of technical documents. Understanding the implications of BAT Conclusions on permits, industry and environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Planning, prioritising and organising tasks and resources to ensure timely and effective results. Ability to respond flexibly to challenges and build consensus. Collection and technical analysis of complex industrial data. Ability to work effectively with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
