Senior Site Reliability Engineer – Square One ResourcesLocation: Hybrid – Southampton or Sutton (2 days a week in the office)Salary/Rate: Up to £560 inside IR35Start Date: November 2025Contract Length: 6‑month contractCompany IntroductionWe are looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer with AWS, Linux, Docker, IaC, and Monitoring (Grafana) experience to join our client, a global analytics organisation based in Southampton / Sutton (twice a week).Required Skills / ExperienceIn-depth technical knowledge of Linux, Containerisation (Docker), Administration, Scripting in Bash.Strong AWS experience – working with AWS messaging services (SNF) & Kafka.Advanced knowledge of at least one IaC tool such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible.Strong experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Elastic, StatusCake, PagerDuty.Security Engineering pipeline experience.Containerisation (Docker) on Linux.Good understanding of at least one high‑level programming language, e.g. Python.In‑depth knowledge of one or more database systems such as Postgres, SQL Server.Experience explaining technical issues & updates to non‑technical people.Experience designing, building, and maintaining high‑performance, highly available production hosting environments, preferably using AWS (VPCs, security groups, RDS, S3, EC2, ECS, EKS).Understanding of security engineering and security best practices.Advanced knowledge of configuration management tools, such as Puppet.Advanced knowledge of best practices and tooling for Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).Job Responsibilities / ObjectivesWork as part of a cross‑functional team to implement internal applications.Diagnose complex system performance problems.Refine system monitoring and reporting in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.Identify and implement best practices by collaborating with other SREs and SRE teams.Understand Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and its implementation methods.Collaborate with multiple teams and software engineers to identify and implement architectural best practices.Diagnose complex system problems using dumps, traces, or other diagnostics aids.Manage and encourage new ideas from staff to foster improvements and innovation.Apply Agile delivery principles.Have an understanding of Vault & Keyless.ApplyIf you are interested in this opportunity, please apply now with your updated CV in Microsoft Word/PDF format.Equal OpportunitySquare One is acting as both an employment agency and an employment business, and is an equal opportunities recruitment business.
