The BCWA Community Domestic Violence and Abuse Support Service supports victims of domestic violence and abuse in Sandwell, Dudley, Wolverhampton and Walsall through a range of contracted/commissioning arrangements. The service works in partnership with other services within BCWA and key agencies to assess risk and provide tailored support plans for service users. Our integrated approach provides effective, holistic support for survivors of abuse using a trauma‑informed approach. The team: Our Children and Young People's (Flourishing Futures) Specialist Advocates for vulnerable children between the ages of 7 and 14 years who have been affected by domestic abuse at home. This will be delivered through the NSPCC Dart (domestic abuse recovering together) Programme. The Dart Programme is a programme recognised by the Home Office. We aim to provide a responsive, needs‑led service to children and young people, creating a positive culture and environment, enabling them to achieve their potential. Job Role Job Title: Regional Children and Young People's Advocate (Flourishing Futures) Position available: 1 full‑time position (37.5 hours, Monday‑Friday, 9 am to 5 pm), covering the Sandwell and Dudley area. We are looking for someone who has experience of working with children and young people who have experienced trauma in both one‑to‑one and group work settings. You will carry a caseload which includes all aspects of case management, including risk assessment, needs assessment, support planning, outcomes and case review. The Role The successful candidate will be required to provide a high‑quality support service for children and young people affected by domestic abuse and violence in the home, including one‑to‑one casework and support for children and parents together to help communicate and build stronger relationships. You will also work closely with Domestic Abuse Advocates to deliver the Dart Programme, focusing on children exploring emotions, healthy coping strategies, communication and safe people prior to offering 10 group sessions exploring what domestic abuse is, why it is ok to talk about domestic abuse and some strategies to safety plan.
