Site Engineer- Temporary Access Road Removal / Final External Works Job Title: Site Engineer– Temporary Access Road Removal / Final External Works Location: Chalfont St Peter Shaft Contract: Fixed Term Contracts Note: internal ALIGN applicants will be prioritised We are recruiting for a Site Engineer to join our Shafts team. Reporting into the Package Manager, you'll be responsible for supporting the Construction team with the technical and engineering aspects of the works. Duties include: Ensuring works on site are carried out safely with due regard to the protection of the workforce, public and the environment. Method Statements ITPs Programme of the works (issue 3 weeks look ahead and follow up commercial Clause32 programme) Quality control, certificate and compliance throughout construction phase to handover –subcontract works Progress monitoring / reporting on site About our role: Draft, review and lead the implementation of inspection and test plans. Lease with supervisors and foremen to ensure works areas are suitably prepared and the required plant/equipment is available and fully operational. Reviewing the AFC drawings and creating setting out files from the provided schedules. Construction process for drainage installation / attenuation ponds / tarmac accesses. TAR : Developing the co-ordination with the Earthworks subcontractor to ensure soils placement areas are available on time and mitigate any changes in the programme/sequence Implementation of risk assessments and method statements. Fully understand and implement the construction programme whilst extracting detailed 3WLA to ensure the milestones of the Project general programme are achieved. Track and record progress for subcontractor works Carry out checks for quality in accordance with the inspection and test plan throughout the contract and duly record – including co-ordination of external parties responsible for sign off/witnessing of works. Carry out checks on the sub-contractor’s working procedures, setting out, quality interventions. Issue permit to dig – Service Coordinator (required previous experience on this role) Take responsibility for checking and keeping records of delivered works, in line with the specification and follow up on sign off points to ensure quality records are up to date with progress on site. Update the WIR (Work Inspection Record) with required handover information as per the ITP, as works progresses (Subcontractor) Liaise with the client representative and designers over design issues/changes. Assist the site management team to manage sections of the work/specific sub-contract packages including co-ordination of other work packages through the Package Manager. Review of technical queries and raise design changes/issues ahead of time for resolution without detriment to the construction programme – ensure all changes are formally notified to all involved parties in delivering the works. Assist with interface co-ordination between disciplines on site, ensuring segregation/protection measures are in place. Traffic Management interphase – coordinate and programme works with subcontractors. Ensuring a high standard of health and safety compliance with the associated subcontract works (Earthworks/ People-plant interface/ confined spaces etc) Escalating issues on site to the Package Manager implementing design change/remediations as required. Coordinate with HS2 (Client), design partners and other project teams to give clarification on construction proposals. About you: Skills & Experience Civil Engineering Degree. Demonstrable experience in carrying out similar tasks within medium and large-scale projects, covering document preparation, supervision and coordination of the activities, preferably earthworks / drainage / Civil projects, working directly on site – HS2/Align experience is preferred. Membership of an appropriate Professional body, typically Chartered member of Institute of Civil Engineering or an international equivalent professional status. Demonstrable previous relevant experience within construction engineering, including Earthworks, drainage/services installation and specifically technical construction skills. Required Earthworks Specification SCEW knowledge. Ability to manage or support project programmes, ensuring delivery to time, cost, and quality. Experience supervising site activities, coordinating subcontractors, and resolving issues to minimise delay and cost impact. Including traffic management (applications support) Experience service installation and management of interphases (Gaz, electricity, water) – SERVICE COORDINATOR training Support team on CONSENT & S61 – Experience is required. CSCS card / CITB Site Manager Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) TSTS training FREC-3 Temporary Works Coordinator Experience in NEC-3 contract. Proficiency in AutoCAD for setting out and as-built checks; confident with general IT systems (MS Office, project management tools) #J-18808-Ljbffr
