Reports To: Group FD / Managing Director Employment Type: Full-time (will consider a 4-day week) Job Summary The Finance Manager will oversee the financial operations of the company, ensuring sound financial management, compliance, and strategic planning to support business growth. This role is ideal for a hands‑on finance professional with strong analytical, organisational, and leadership skills, capable of managing both day‑to‑day accounting and long‑term financial strategy within an SME environment. Key Responsibilities Oversee all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and cash flow management. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports. Analyse financial performance and provide insights to support decision‑making. Ensure accurate and timely reporting in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Budgeting & Forecasting Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with management. Monitor budget variances and recommend corrective actions. Support strategic planning with financial modelling and scenario analysis. Cash Flow & Treasury Management Manage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operations. Oversee banking relationships and optimise financing arrangements. Approve and monitor payments, payroll, and expenses. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with tax laws, statutory regulations, and audit requirements. Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions. Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks. Leadership & Team Management Supervise and develop accounting and finance staff. Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement. Collaborate with other departments to align financial strategies with business goals. Qualifications & Skills Education & Experience 5+ years of experience in finance/accounting, including at least 1 year in a managerial/supervisory role. Prior experience in an SME environment is an advantage. Technical Skills Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with tax and regulatory compliance requirements. Soft Skills Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. High attention to detail and organisational skills. Integrity, professionalism, and a proactive approach.
