We’re therefore taking positive steps to promote a positive and inclusive culture; we welcome applications from those that identify with these groups to better represent our communities.We have an exciting opportunity to join #TeamEMR as a Shift Manager.ResponsibilitiesYou'll be responsible for supervising and co-ordinating operational, cleaning, maintenance and subcontractor activities on the depot, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment at all times. A key part of your role will be motivating and developing the production teams and contractors to deliver excellence in safety, fleet performance, roster efficiency and cost control.Undertaking incident and accident investigations and to identify areas for improvement by personal checks, analysis of train incident reports and complaints initiating action to ensure improvementsIdentify areas for improvement by personal checks, analysis of train incident reports and complaints initiating action to ensure improvements.Act as the lead contact in liaison with maintenance teams and EMR ControlResponsible for the deployment of all resources to enable effective operational and service delivery requirements including the development and consultation of suitable RostersAssist in preparation of manpower, staff costs, materials and overhead budget, effectively controlling costs. Liaise with Maintenance teams and contractors to ensure efficient utilisation of staff and resources to achieve laid down availability and reliability targetsEnsure work is performed in a safe and effective manner in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act, industry rules and regulation and local operational procedures. Delegates duties in accordance with local Health & Safety Policy Statement.Provide first line response to depot defects affecting service implementing a course of action to recover the situationYou will be working to a rostered shift pattern for this role, and as this is a safety-critical role, you will be required to pass online psychometric testing and a safety-critical medical as part of the recruitment process.About youTo be successful in this role, you will have a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship, or an equivalent level of engineering experience supported by assessment standards, and an awareness of maintenance processes and procedures.
