Sexual Offence Examiner – Cumbria – 36 hours Join to apply for the Sexual Offence Examiner – Cumbria – 36 hours role at Mountain Healthcare Location: The Cumbria SARC Salary: £43,005.07 FTE – based on 40 hours per week (£20.62 per hour) Full Time: 36 hours per week Hours: Monday to Sunday, 12‑hour shifts between 09:00 am and 21:00 pm, rota basis covering 24/7, 365 days per year. This is the perfect opportunity for a compassionate person to join a growing, innovative and market‑leading service provider within Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARC). The role of SOE is critical in providing victims of sexual assault with the dedicated support and care required. We're looking for caring and compassionate RN’s, Midwives, RMNs or Paramedics to join us as Sexual Offence Examiner to provide holistic care and support to victims of sexual assault. As a Sexual Offence Examiner, you'll receive full training and support to become a qualified Forensic Practitioner, with further opportunities to undertake additional higher education after one year in post. Key Responsibilities Forensic examinations and obtaining forensic exhibits. Develop forensic strategies according to FFLM guidelines. Actively work in partnership with external MDTs and Police. First point of contact for victims, Police and Social Services to discuss referral pathways. Manage and promote the self‑referral pathway. Undertake holistic assessments including sexual health, mental health, and safeguarding. Produce individual management plans. Support the continued quality improvement of the service. Work under the Forensic Science Regulator requirements. Obtain consent for Health and Forensic procedures. Essential Skills and Qualifications Qualified Registered Nurse, Midwife, or Paramedic. A minimum of 3 years of relevant post‑qualification experience. Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and adults. Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality. Phlebotomy skills. Experience of autonomous working. Because of the nature of the Sexual Offence Examiner, applications are invited from females only. This post has a genuine occupational qualification under the Sex Discrimination Act, Section 7(2)b and 7(2)e. Whilst the position may be based from one location, additional travel may be a requirement across SARC's, therefore a UK driving licence is required and access to a vehicle.
