To be part of the North Cornwall CMHT/DOPMH wider admin team and to ensure high levels of service are provided at all times, across the Locality, providing service support overall when required. Banham House has on-site car parking, which offers free parking to staff. This post is working 22.5 hours per week, working Wednesday - Friday, 9.00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m. and part of a job share opportunity. This job is currently only open to people who already work for the NHS in Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly. Main duties of the job To provide an efficient and effective Medical Secretary service to a specific Consultant Psychiatrist and their medical team. The post holder is required to manage their day to day workload and use their initiative without supervision which will require informed judgement, excellent organisational and communication skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritise competing demands. To ensure effective lines of communication between team members, patients, and others, whilst maintaining confidentiality at all times. Person Specification Education, Qualifications & Experience GCSE Maths and English / Key Skills equivalent NVQ 3 Business Administration or equivalent knowledge or experience RSA/OCR III Word-Processing or equivalent qualification or experience RSA/OCR II Audio-Typing or equivalent qualification or experience Computer Literate with experience of spreadsheets and databases Medical Secretary Diploma or equivalent knowledge or experience RSA/OCR III Audio-Typing or equivalent Previous experience working as a secretary in the NHSli Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure whilst remaining calm Ability to manage own workload and work independently Ability to prioritise and work on own initiative Problem Solving Knowledge & Abilities Minute taking experience Knowledge of medical terminology Knowledge of the Trust's electronic information systems Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
